David C. Winter 1953-2006
David Winter was a remarkably kind, strong and generous individual. He led by example and was an inspirational force to those around him. Although most knew David through his affiliations in the aviation industry, he was a family man at heart and the brightest star in many peoples’ lives, especially his wife, Candy, and daughter, Ashley. David got his start in aviation when he joined Ameristar fuels as its credit manager, and over the next 14 years, David was employed by various companies, including Colt International from 1998-2006. It was through the promotion of jet fuel for the general aviation community that David’s true talents and abilities emerged. He had the vision and understanding to see that anything is possible through honesty, dedication and hard work, a trait that was instrumental in helping the people and companies associated with him achieve their successes.
David loved interacting with people, whether it was at various conventions, dinner outings, or (one of his favorite pastimes) playing golf with his pals. He truly was a people person. To him, promoting jet fuel and trip support services wasn’t just a job, it was a profession that he loved and took great pride in. Frequently, those who knew him called him “The Hardest Working Man in Aviation”. David’s passion for business was built on his belief that providing the customer with 24/7 access is essential to everyone’s success. He consistently strived for new solutions and refinements to client issues and believed that every product, procedure or service could be improved. Drawing from his experiences in other industries, David believed that constant innovation, hard work and listening to the customer were the keys to success.
